Inkmeup is Moving

Oh Dear!

So I just realised I still had this blog and I'd better do something with it! As of 16th March 2015 Inkmeup will no longer be it's own shop and shall be joining Feltmeupdesigns on my new shiny website and Etsy store.

All Ink related updates shall be coming from Feltmeupdesigns Blog and new products will be listed in the webshop. The Inkmeup facebook page is staying though as I have followers who aren't interested in seeing millions of felt birds and have expressed a desire to keep receiving their Inky updates via Facebook!

I've realised I can't keep up with so many shops and need to streamline my business. Inkmeup designs have been appearing on Not On The High Street for a little over a year and look quite splendid alongside their felted counterparts! So I am biting the bullet and combining them.

My etsy shop has a sale on to clear some things before I move them all so pop over and have a look, I've made up some rather nice mystery packs of prints and there are some fabulous bargains to be had in the sale!

Thank you everyone who has supported Inkmeup I hope you will continue to do so in our new incarnation!

Neglected Ink

Poor neglected Inky shop! Well my last post was way way back in February and I have had a busy few months. The Felt Menagerie has been super super busy with lots of wedding orders and some new galleries and shops to supply and I haven't had any time to make new inky things or do anything except maintain my shops.

In fact there was a point in the last few months where John and I discussed just closing down Ink altogether and selling off my supplies and remaining stock. I was just worn out from being a feltmaker my drawing and printing were falling by the way side. Not helped by the lack of energy and the fact that I had only been able to make it to 2 ceramics classes last term. Frankly the whole thing was getting me down until this last couple of weeks where there was a lull in the felty orders and I had a little more time to play... maybe it's just the seasons changing but I have started feeling a bit more energised and inspired.

I have been making these lino plates of nests for ceramics class and printing them on to procelain, I have to wait to fire the ceramics before I take any pictures but I am very very happy with my prints and there should be some paper versions appearing in the shop soon. Also I am drawing again, for some reason I am obsessed with bears... so at the top of this post is my favourite grumpy bear drawing which I will be making into a gocco print soon.
It feels very good to be inspired and working again, sometimes us creative types get stuck in a bit of a rut and it takes a while to work thru it. I'm looking forward to a creative summer *:D

Inky Updates, Lavender Bag Clearance, plans for 2012

Inkmeup is edging closer to 500 etsy sales... and you all know what that means, once we hit 500 we'll be having a giveaway... yay!
I had such good fun doing the sale I decided to keep all my lavender bags half price until the stock clears and I can get to making some new ones, brooches have also stayed at 20% off at etsy and I have moved alot of discontinued stock into my sale section to clear... when it's gone, it's gone so if you wanted something don't miss out, grab it now! Also since I have lost my regular notebook supplier and I'm not sure if I can source another notebooks are now all reduced slightly and some discontinued designs are just £5.

I have been thinking alot about the future of Inkmeup lately as my other shop Feltmeupdesigns has been doing so well Ink has been a little neglected... I am pondering if I continue with Ink as I don't have as much time as I would like to invest in it... but that decision is way off in the future. It's likely that Inkmeup is going to undergo some major changes this year so keep an eye out for updates. Don't worry tho... I won't be going anywhere without giving you a heads up!
It looks like this year is shaping up to be as crazy and exciting as last year with more collaborations with Eatme Artspace planned, more felty adventures into new territories and hopefully one or too inky ones too... watch this space!

Inkmeupdesigns Coupon Code

When I opened up my new Inky shop recently I was all fired up with enthusiasm but since then I have realised that 4 shops is too many to really keep updated and give the attention they deserve so I am moving stuff  from the Inkmeupdesigns to my main shop ... if anyone wants anything while I do this Use coupon code MOVINGSALE for 15% off Inkmeupdesigns shop www.etsy.com/shop/Inkmeupdesigns?ref=si_shop

I'm hoping to be moved by the end of the week but things are so hectic with Feltmeupdesigns that I may not have managed it so the coupon code shall run until the shop is empty!

Maybe a good chance for people to grab a few Christmas Bargains!

Getting Festive

It's a well know fact that no matter how much I try I am never ready for Christmas! However this year I am super proud for getting my inky Christmas designs ready before december this year!

I decided to make some cute little christmas stockings... and I love them... I had some lovely linen I bought on a whim and I reckon that the red looks great on it! These are teeny little socks perfect for wrapping up tiny gifts, they would look super cute with a little toy and a candy cane sticking out of the top!

Or maybe even one of my cheeky robins! We still have the lovely robin designs from last year too, they are lavender scented so after tehy have graced your tree you can hang them in your wardrobe to make your clothes smell lovely and keep moths away!

We're definately getting festive in our house right now... we can't move for robins!

Birds Of A Feather Exhibition 7th - 20th November

The lovely peeps at Eatme Artspace have very kindly loaned me and a couple of pals, Iona Calvert and Sara Adams, use of their small, but perfectly formed, gallery space for a couple of weeks! So we are having a little exhibition entitled "Birds of a Feather". All the work will be bird themed and it's just in time for Christmas too so you can start your shopping early and grab some unique hand crafted gifts!

Eatme Artspace is tucked away behind Stephen Joseph Theatre on Hanover Road in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. It's just opposite Eatme cafe (damn fine coffee and the best fish finger butties and banoffee pie ever!) and has just opened as a gallery space.

We're setting up on Monday and cramming the space with as much birdie loveliness as we possibly can, there will be prints, ceramics and of course a whole pile of tweets and hoots and feltmeupdesignsgoodies, as well as greetings cards and whatever else we can sneak in there to make it all look super fabulous!

I have been working madly to get some of my prints framed and mounted so they look like proper art and we'll have a good display. Iona and Sara have been printing and pottering (that's ceramics to me and you) like mad things too... there'll be pictures of their work on the blog soon.

We open  properly on Tuesday and will be open at least 11-3 every day except Sunday, I'll be there with a pile of felt probably making robins so pop along and say hi if you are in the area! We're hoping to have a preview but watch this space for details.
